Robin Wilson Home Wins in Make Mine a Million $ Business

In May 2007, we applied to become a contestant in a phenomenal program called Make Mine a Million $ Business. On June 3, we were part of a select group of 20 amazing women business owners selected to compete in an elevator pitch competition before an audience of peers, judges and executives who would vote to determine a pool of 10 winners.

Guess what?

We were among the final pool of 10 winners - a new class of Make Mine a Million $ Business awardees from the New York region. The program was launched in 2005 by Count Me In for Women's Economic Independence, with founding partner OPEN from American Express, plus other corporate sponsors including FedEx, AIG, Dell, Cisco, JetBlue and Marriott. The online community has reached over 52,000 members providing seed capital, lines of credit, infrastructure advice, coaching and other tools. Robin Wilson joins Miss America to ring NASDAQ Bell

On Thursday, October 4, 2007 - Robin Wilson joined Miss America to ring the NASDAQ Opening Bell. The platform of Miss America is found under the website www.missamericakids.com and she has partnered with the Childrens Educational Network to ensure that children are kept safe from internet predators.

A fun time was had by all - and what fun to meet Miss America!

ARTLOAN Program: Linking Artists & Corporations

Robin Wilson Home partnered with a Wall Street law firm to create a new program that we plan to implement with other corporate partners. ARTLOAN is a way for corporate partners to link with emerging and established artists to provide exhibition space, and also provides an opportunity to link artists with potential clients.

The highlight of the exhibition is the artist, Angelo Mariano, who has exhibited his work in Japan, Europe and the US with a growing reputation.

His large etchings and monotypes (left, Feature piece in the entry foyer of the law firm) have been sold to both corporate and private collections throughout the world. His work is also in the Collection of Prints at the New York Public Library.

Another painting is now  a cover for Raimondo Salomone's book, "Peace Be With You", published by PublishAmerica in January 2007. Mr. Mariano's work is sold in the Gallery of Graphic Arts (GOGA) of New York.

Last night, the Wall Street law firm held an opening gala to announce the ARTLOAN program to the public and to showcase the artwork. Of 40 submissions, the firm selected 12 artists whose work will remain on exhibition until June 2008.   

Exciting Developments

Welcome to our new BLOG. We hope to keep you informed about efficiency tips, consumer product deals, projects we are working on, and ways to maximize your renovation effort.

Since June's announcement of our partnership with Hearst Magazines Home/Shelter division (O at Home, HouseBeautiful, Town & Country, Smart Money, Veranda, etc.), we have begun to see the extensive efforts of the Hearst team to market the partnership with Robin Wilson Home. The exciting prototypes we received will provide a wonderful linkage with many leading companies. Our partnership with Hearst Group will allow many consumers to learn more about budgeting, planning, and executing a home renovation project in every room in the home.

In another area, we have been commissioned to create two Robin Wilson Home concept properties fora leading developer in the Texas market. These concept homes will target the custom home ($1+ million) and executive home ($500,000) category for a new coastal resort development. More detail soon.

Last week, a photo shoot with the talented Vanessa Lenz and stylist/hair/makeup artist, Trish Jones (of Melange Salon, Peninsula Hotel) at a studio in Lower Manhattan. Impressive work!
